DESCRIPTION:Since 1993\, the Grand Prix Festival of Watkins Glen has celebrated our rich motor racing heritage. This all-day festival brings history to life with exciting events. The highlight of the festival is the SVRA Watkins Glen Grand Prix Tribute\, where selected vintage sports cars recreate the magic of the original 6.6-mile road course used in the 1948-52 street races—a true crowd favorite! Additionally\, Franklin Street is closed to traffic from 12-8 PM\, transforming the heart of downtown into a pedestrian-friendly festival hub filled with activities\, cars\, and fun for everyone. \n\n\n\n\nPassionate classic car enthusiasts can register for one of seven Stone Bridge Driver events\, driving the iconic circuit alongside nearly 700 other participants. Spots are limited to 650 cars and fill up quickly\, so don’t wait to join the fun! (Several of these events are already sold out!) Featured marque of the year for 2025 is Porsche. \nIf there is adequate interest from Lanco MG members\, a caravan to and from Watkins Glen could be arranged\, including reserving a block of rooms at a nearby hotel for Thursday through the weekend.
