Lake George NY Races on Ice

February 8 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

As part of the Lake George Winter Carnival, sanctioned car ice races will be held on Saturday, February 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drivers with over 40 years of experience driving on the ice will take to a challenging track across the frozen Lake George. The Adirondack Motor Enthusiast Club will host the event, attracting motor enthusiasts and winter sports lovers. The races are ice-dependent, and spectator admission is free.

Too mundane to chase your winter blues, perhaps then the Outhouse races? To be held on February 1 and 2 and then again on February 21 and 22. Teams of five, consisting of one rider, two pushers, and two pullers, will take their custom-made outhouses through a course on the ice of Lake George.

Raceable outhouses must be made of wood, aluminum, fiberglass, or steel and be four feet by four feet and six feet tall. They must also have a push bar or plate on the back that extends no more than one foot from the sides and no doors or windows. The outhouse and rider’s total weight must be at least 250 pounds.
